The venue
Old Mac Daddy is a unique venue in the Elgin Valley, located on a working apple farm, approximately an hour from Cape Town.
The estate has a lake with its own beach, open lawns, apple orchards and trails, creating space for both structured team challenges and time to relax between activities.
Our team-building activities are run by our own team and can be tailored around your group, from competitive challenges such as potjiekos competitions and Amazing Race-style challenges to outdoor activities including archery, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and zorb ball.
Most groups combine their team building with a conference, meals and an overnight stay, but day packages are also available.

Menus are planned around your group, with options throughout the day including:

Staying over
Turn your team-building day into an overnight experience with accommodation across the estate.
Our accommodation includes:
- 12 individually designed vintage Airstream trailers.
- Six Klein Paradys tiny homes.
- Daddy’s Villa.
- The School House.
- Apple Grove.
- A tented camp, 10 minutes from the main lodge (4×4 required).
Up to 28 people can have their own room, or up to 52 can be accommodated on a sharing basis. With additional daybed capacity and Apple Grove included, the estate can accommodate larger groups.
Exclusive use of the estate is available when all accommodation is booked. Where the accommodation is not fully booked, a venue hire fee can secure exclusive use.

How many people can you accommodate?
We can accommodate up to 28 people in their own rooms or up to 52 people on a sharing basis. Additional sleeping capacity is available when daybeds and Apple Grove are included. The conference room seats up to 30 delegates.
Do you run the activities yourselves?
Yes. Our own team runs the core team-building activities, including archery, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, zorb ball, fishing and cycling, as well as the structured group challenges.
Can we combine team building with a conference?
Yes. This is a popular combination. A half-day conference followed by a half-day team build can be booked as a single-day programme. The conference room accommodates up to 30 delegates.
Can we come for the day without staying overnight?
Yes. Team-building packages are available without accommodation.
Is catering included?
Packages can include lunch, snacks and refreshments, with breakfast included for overnight stays. Dinner is available as an additional option, with menus designed around your group.
Can you organise a year-end function?
Yes. Team building can be combined with an evening celebration, dinner, accommodation or a conference. Each event is planned around the requirements of your group.
Can we have the estate to ourselves?
Yes. Exclusive use is available when all accommodation is booked. Where the accommodation is not fully booked, a venue hire fee can secure exclusive use.
Can you accommodate halaal and other dietary requirements?
Our meat is sourced from a certified halaal butcher, and our kitchen uses separate utensils, pots and pans for halaal preparation. We are not a certified halaal kitchen. Please discuss dietary requirements with us when making your enquiry so we can confirm what can be accommodated.

We accept team-building bookings on weekdays and weekends, subject to availability.
